Robert Kirkman: ‘Walking Dead’ Novel’s Violence Is ‘Hard To Handle’

Here’s an interview with Robert Kirkman about The Rise of the Governor…

The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor,” the new novel from comic book creator and show executive producer Robert Kirkman and co-author Jay Bonansinga, is grotesque. This is a good thing, mind you; when it comes to the realm of flesh-hungry creatures of the undead, guts and gore are par for the course.

Robert Kirkman dishes on the first episode of Season 2.

IGN Comics: You wrote the first episode of season 2; how is it for you to go back and explore a time period of the book that is so far behind you? Robert Kirkman: Well I mean, it’s exciting for me just because this is material that I’d written so long ago and so when I read the early issues of Walking Dead, I’m constantly kind of like, “Oh you know, I could’ve done this better and I could’ve done this, or this would’ve been neat.” It’s nice to go back and revisit something you’ve written like that and be able to tinker with it for a new medium. That part of it is pretty exciting for me.

Creator Owned Spotlight - Witch Doctor 2

A Great interview with Witch Doctor’s Brandon Seifert!!

here’s a snippet…

Dr. Morrow trained in traditional medicine, and then, under circumstances we haven’t revealed, gave up that life and trained in the magical arts. But his medical background means he’s got a different approach to the supernatural than we usually see — he approaches it like a doctor, a scientist. Which, if you think about it, makes a lot of sense because lots of classic monsters are disease metaphors — vampires, werewolves, zombies, demonic possession, they’re all infections. So Morrow’s job is to diagnose and treat cases of these supernatural infections, and to stop outbreaks of them — preventative medicine for the apocalypse.
