At the risk of sounding like a fanboy, I can’t resist delivering one more brief pitch for “The Walking Dead.”
Yes, I know, I already raved about the first two episodes of the second season. But the third hour premiering this Sunday is an absolute stunner — featuring a terrific performance by Jon Bernthal — and the fourth isn’t much worse, with a scene that’s simultaneously revolting and downright hysterical.

It’s a little late for this list but here are some great Halloween Books to Read.
It’s that time of year again, boys and girls! The temperature has dropped, the leaves have turned from green to varying shades of orange and red; children dress in the guise of their favorite characters, and the flickering of candles show the yellow grins of the jack-o-lanterns adorning the porches of your neighborhood. It’s Halloween, folks, and while there’s plenty of people out there that like cute, plastic pumpkins on their doors, we here at Geeks of Doom like our Halloweens a little more horrifying. So, it’s with this, Halloweekend, that I will be bringing to you a series of horror-themed features that showcase the wicked side of geek entertainment.

WALKING DEAD CONVERSE HIGH TOPS!!!!

Today marks the official beginning of the Witch Doctor Eisner Award campaign. With one month left in 2011, it’s hard to think of a better new series than the Image Skybound book written by Brandon Seifert and illustrated by Lukas Ketner. With a quirky protagonist, a smart and believable mythology and a perfect mix of exposition, characterization and action, it’s really hard to find a flaw in Seifert and Ketner’s debut title. Witch Doctor #4 delivers an impressive finale to an impressive miniseries that succinctly wraps up Witch Doctor’s initial arc while introducing a new threat for future installments of the series…

Jon Bernthal, who stars on “The Walking Dead” as the disgruntled Shane Walsh, ended last week’s episode with his back against a wall, zombies literally nipping at his heels and no allies in sight, save for an overweight burden named Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince) — the same man who accidentally shot Carl (Chandler Riggs) during a hunting accident gone wrong. Their mission to find medical supplies critical to Carl’s surgery was all but doomed, but Shane found a way to survive — it’s just a shame the same can’t be said for Otis.
